Operating via USB, this tiny surveillance transmitter will allow for infinite operating time if plugged directly into a mains USB port or extended operating times reaching several weeks of uninterrupted audio transmission when used with a portable USB battery pack. This is a permanent, always-on "hot-microphone", once the USBTX is inserted into a USB port it will begin live transmission of ambient and surrounding audio without interruption on the Ultra High-Frequency band.
The USBTX will broadcast audio over a distance of 700 meters in a cluttered urban environment, up to 1.2 kilometres with LOS, through concrete, drywall, and thick bush to any UHF receiver.
Use this transmitter to remotely listen to an area of interest that requires discreet acoustic monitoring. We recommend any handheld UHF receiver capable of tuning into the 400MHz-434MHz range, this is a standard range in most UHF receivers.

Obsidian's transmitters are easily paired with any compact hand-held transceiver. Any Two-Way UHF Radio will work.
The USBTX comes in different designs once completed, the main goal is to keep the transmitter as slim and small as possible, please expect minor differences from some models in the images, this will not compromise the function or performance of your transmitter.
In order to maintain its longevity, the USBTX comes potted with a compound that seals all onboard components. Only the microphone and the USB port are accessible and made visible.
